Camp Manager Job Opportunity

PEC Nature Camp provides a spacious indigenous adventure camp, picnic, team building and nature park. It is located on the scenic foothills of the rolling Ngong Hills, about 40 km south of Nairobi in Corner baridi, off Magadi road, just 6km past Kiserian town. We Connect people with nature!

Brief  

We are looking for a Camp Manager who will oversee the day to day operations of the facility;
including but not limited to:

1. Organise and coordinate staff using proper communication and motivation.
2. Develop and nurture our human resource and cultivate office culture.
3. Set, supervise and aid in implementation of targets/objectives using S.M.A.R.T.
4. Support in recruiting, training and supervise all staff.
5. Develop and ensure compliance to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and processes as
well as orient all staff on it.
6. Prepare and ensure compliance of safety standards, including first aid response and camp
site maintenance.
7. Report and perform related work as required or allocated by the board of directors or
supervisor.
8. Manage camp premises, to ensure standards are upheld and raised with time.
9. Ensure activity grounds and equipment are maintained, repaired, kept in order and kept
functional.
10. Ensure inventory of kitchen, course, grounds supplies and equipment are taken, especially
before and after major events.
11. Enforce all camp rules and regulations; model standards for conduct as they pertain to camp
staff and facilities.
12. Bookkeeping.
13. Record daily camp attendance.
14. Document all camp incidents.
15. Support planning and implementation of marketing activities and programs, such as, but not
limited to sharing activities for the public through personal platforms, speaking at public
forums as PNC ambassador on facilities and programs and imploring and training PNC
facilitators to do the same.
16. Part take in all camp activities, such as, but not limited to high and low ropes training, camp
program training, meal preparations, grounds maintenance.

He/she will report to the Directors.

Requirements

  • BSc. Hospitality or related Degree required. With basic computer skills, be familiar with
    Microsoft Office, Email and Social Media.
  • Experience supervising others, and the ability to get along well with people; children, youth
    and adults.
  • Strong interest in nature and adventure.
  • Experience in leading/facilitating teams in group activities helpful.
  • Mature person with strong Christian beliefs and practices.
  • Problem solver with positive attitude and role flexibility.
  • Knowledge of first aid, safety and safe use of challenge and sports equipment is an added
    advantage.

Note: He/she must be willing to move to/near the campsite (Kiserian).
